History/Purpose: Each year, Lexmark seeks to recognize academic excellence among high school students of U.S. Lexmark employees. The Lexmark Academic Scholarship Program provides high school students with the opportunity to compete for a limited number of higher education scholarships.
Eligible children include stepchildren and all other children who are: (a) principally dependent on the employee for care and support and (b) when not in attendance at school, are residing permanently in the employee’s household in what generally is considered a parent/child relationship.
Criteria:
- student is in their final year of high school and
- parent is a Lexmark U.S. regular employee or
- parent is retired under the Lexmark Retirement Plan, or
- parent is receiving regular benefits under the Lexmark Long Term Disability, or
- parent is on a company recognized leave of absence, or
- parent is deceased.
Deadline: Not being awarded in 2010

History: Established in 2000 to benefit children of Toyota employees.
Purpose: Up to five $1,000 non-renewable scholarships will be awarded every year.
Criteria: Academic merit, leadership abilities, activities, good moral character, evidence of contributing to cost of education, and a statement of education and career goals. Financial need is not a consideration.
Deadline: Not being awarded in 2010

History: The Jane Allen Newman Scholarship Fund at Blue Grass Community Foundation was established by Mrs. Newman to assist Kentuckians going to college.
Purpose: awards range from $1000 to $2000 per academic year and are renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study, provided students maintain a 2.0 GPA and remain full-time students in good standing.
Criteria: The scholarship is open to Kentucky residents with financial need who maintain a C average or better and who are or plan to be full time students.
Deadline: Not being awarded in 2009

History: Established in 1997 to memorialize Edith Schwab who was an attorney for Kentucky’s Legislative Research Commission until her untimely death in 1996.
Purpose: To provide one-time scholarships of $1,000 for graduate students with excellent academic records, financial need, and a desire to follow a career in public service.

History: Established in 1999 by Lee Soper in memory of his daughter, Jennifer Leigh Soper, who died of cystic fibrosis.
Purpose: At least one $500 scholarship per year to benefit college-bound students with cystic fibrosis.
Criteria
Must have been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, confirmed by an accredited CF center.
Be enrolled in any college, university, community college, or technical school.
Exhibit potential for academic access
